You may think you already know what a theatre class is like, so why even bother reading on? Performances, improvisation, scenes, scripts, practice. “Is there any more to it?” you may ask.
Well, in this class, there is magic.
Here, students live their imagination turned into reality. With no limits to what can be created, students take an active part in all stages of the artistic process, culminating in fascinating original performances.
While students rehearse for performances and delight in the fun of improv games and exercises, they learn the lessons that will empower them to act with confidence both onstage and in life.
Students learn how to:
Express their individuality and unique ideas
Collaborate with peers to create something bigger than themselves
Pay attention, listen, and help without even being asked to
Build community and create connection and belonging
Think quickly, adapt, and respond inventively when events do not go as planned
Cultivate patience and persistence
Use their voice and develop their language skills
Understand different perspectives with empathy
Celebrate mistakes so they can overcome the fear of failing and are excited to take on challenges
See wonder in both reality and imagination, and discover the joy in bringing them together

“In the theatre workshops, Helena showed incredible insight into our daughter’s personality, incorporating themes that resonated with her interests while gently encouraging her to step outside her comfort zone. This balanced approach fostered growth without causing anxiety... Any family would be fortunate to have Helena working with their child.”
- Chloe, parent of theater student
